Gabrielle Gould is a Minnesota-born, Florida-raised designer who incorporates the objects and forms found in her surrounding coastal environment as elemental components of her creations.

Gabrielle frequently combs the Atlantic coastline and wetlands in search of the objects and materials we find in her work. From miniature shells to fossilized sharks teeth, her work is a compelling, figurative expression of the varied wetland habitats found in the southeast.

A self described modern hunter-gatherer, her choice of materials is often an easily overlooked wonder - a miniature mollusk shell, semi-precious mineral in its raw form, fallen feathers. Using fine gold, sterling silver, and silk thread, Gabrielle weaves these elements together into narrative pieces that each tell their own unique story.

The streamlined design is intentional for Gould but for the viewer, each small discovery adds to the charm of the piece. And more surprises await those who investigate Gould’s pieces closely. Secret compartments open to reveal a trio of pearl eggs, a coral egg, or perhaps a worm or beetle.
